Venice, Italy Venice, Italy Venice, Italy Venice, Italy
Late April 2001, myself and 2 friends decided to take a road trip across a bit of Europe - Switzerland, Italy and the South of France. 2 Weeks in total. We flew out from Dublin and in Liverpool connected to a flight to Geneva. Flights were fine, but first challenge arrived driving a left hand drive car from the airport to the city centre where we had a hotel booked for the night. A 3 mile journey took 2 hours, and a burnt out clutch (which is suprising since I drive a manual car! After that it was plain sailing (ish) drove over the alps, down into Italy, first heading to Venice, and then to Florence. Click here for more photos...

Is the content what you were hoping to find at longexposure.com?

I've been running this site now for almost 7 years as a hobby - initially to publish my photos, but in more recent times to improve my dev skills (if you saw earlier versions of this site, you'd agree!). But now I'm wondering if I should make better use of the domain name with a view to having it a site specifically for long exposure photography (as it seems that most of the people who end up on this page have searched for "long exposure" in their search engine). Please give me your opinion. If I was going to make this change, I'd do it right, but I'd need help too, so if interested, please mail me at rclose at longexposure dot com. Alternatively, if anyone is interested in purchasing this domain, mail me - no reasonable offer refused!
Baltimore, co. Cork, Ireland Baltimore, co. Cork, Ireland
Baltimore is a small fishing village on the very south coast of Ireland - next stop New York! Beautiful part of the country, which despite have become a major holiday down, still holds onto its village charms. A lively music/arts scence in the town and on Sherkin island (about 10 mins on a ferry) and Clear Island (about 40 mins further out into the Atlantic!). Click here for more photos...
Blessington, co Wicklow, Ireland co. Carlow, Ireland
This is the part of Ireland I live in. Co. Wicklow is known as the garden of Ireland and consists of mountains. The world famous Glendalough monastery is located in the heart of Co, Wicklow. Laois is in the midlands of Ireland - mainly rural but still a place to visit. Even if you don't plan to - cos if you are travelling to the south of the country, you'll drive through it! Carlow is in the southeast of Ireland, bordering Wicklow and Laois. Again, a rural area, but still worth a look around! Click here for more photos...

Co. Cavan is in the north of the republic of Ireland - bordering Northern Ireland. I spent a few days up there a couple of years ago and found this super nature reserve. Click here for more photos...

I've lived in or near Dublin all my working life, so its no surprise I've taken a few photos of the place over time. Its quite a diverse town - from a bustling city center, to quite(ish) fishing villages on its outskirts.... Click here for more photos...
